Mr. Bongani Phillip is the CEO and Executive Chairman of LIU Energy (Pty) Ltd, and other holding company and subsidiaries, He is a University of Cape Town( UCT) graduate for both his under- graduate and post- graduate in Masters in Energy Development ( MA), He has more than 30 + years experience in the energy and international oil and gas sector. Prior to his current role at LIU Energy (Pty) Ltd, Mr. Phillip was an energy consultant and worked at the National Electricity Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) focusing mainly on policy and strategy issues related to oil, gas, coal and energy in general (i.e. electricity, coal mining, renewabl energy, oil and gas).

In 2003, he was recruited by the South African national oil company, Petroleum Oil and Gas South Africa (“PetroSA”), to establish a new department for Government Relations. This department was tasked with developing relationships with governments of oil and gas producing countries, particularly in Africa, dealing directly with Senior government officials such Ministers, Director Generals, Ambassadors, Members of Parliament, etc., to lobby on business issues. For a period of more than 10 years he has mainly been focusing on international coal exports via the Richards Bay port while also developing and investing in various renewable energy and gas projects in South Africa to assist with the energy just transition.

Mr. Bongani Phillip is also an Non-Executive Director in a number of companies including Bulang Resources which is an exploration and mining company, Inkosi Energy (Pty) Ltd, Bornfree Investments 95 (Pty) Ltd which is a shareholder in Batho Bonke (ABSA BEE initiative) and the Sanlam BEE initiative with Mr. Patrice Motsepe.

Professor Emeritus Rosemary Falcon has been involved in coal for over 40 years, in corporate, consulting and research positions. She graduated with a PhD from Wits followed by advanced training in coal science and technology for trade and utilization at the Berbau Forschung in Germany and the National Coal Board in the UK.

National Diploma Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration – Cape Peninsula University of Technology,Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) Project Management – Cape Peninsula University of Technology, B Phil. Honors Maritime Studies. Mr. Aubrey specializes in logistics management, transport, freight and forwarding.

BSc (Honours) in Chemistry – Fort Hare University, Masters of Technology – PE Technikon, Management Development Programme – Stellenbosch University, Masters of Business Administration – Potchefstroom University, Bachelor of Theology.

Mr Kholekile hosts a wealth of knowledge and expertise in strategy and commercial practices, having served on the board of Ceppwawu Investment, Bitou Municipality member Audit and Performance Committee, Mr Zono previously chaired Piet Julies HIV/AIDS Action Group, PetroSA Ghana and Bitou Municipality Risk.

PGDip Finance, Economic Policy – University of London, BCom, Economic & Finance – University of Cape Town, Xhanti Payi is an economist with extensive knowledge in providing economic research and analysis on emerging markets, with key focus on emerging Africa.

 

Xhanti is a Director at Nascence. Nascence is an Advisory and Research firm, providing consulting and research services to a wide variety of clients. Xhanti worked as a Portfolio Analyst for Investec, and gained experience in portfolio analysis, construction and administration on private client portfolios.

He is also an Opinionista, providing opinion and analysis columns. 

Soc Sci;LLB – University of Cape Town, Muneeb’s sharp mind and vast general knowledge, coupled with his keen intellect, makes him invaluable. He is strategic and highly effective when dealing with complex legal matters.

 

Muneeb is a seasoned professional and is able to offer creative solutions to complex international property transactions.

Muneeb is a Managing Director at Suntech Power South Africa. Wuxi Suntech Power Co., Ltd., a company incorporated in the PRC in January 2001, produces industry-leading solar products for residential, commercial, industrial, and utility.

Master of Business Administration (MBA),B-Tech: Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Programme in Project, Management (APPM) (University of Pretoria), Pr. Construction Project Manager (SACPCMP), Plant Safety Regulations (PSR) – Authorized as an RP.

 

Mncedi offers strong operational and technical leadership experience having over 21 years

Industry experience, he provides strategic and technical leadership in initiatives he is involved in, with a strong affinity to oversee the effective utilization of contracts administration systems.
